The House Standing Committee on Social Policy and Legal Affairs will hold public hearings on Tuesday, 4 April and Wednesday, 5 April 2023 as part of its inquiry into online gambling and its impacts on those experiencing gambling harm.

New reforms to crack down on gambling harm (VIC)

The casino’s Responsible Gambling Code of Conduct sets limits on the length of time a person may gamble at the Casino, with the operator required to enforce 15-minute breaks if a person has been gambling for three continuous hours.

Star Entertainment pleads guilty (QLD)

Star Entertainment, operators of Brisbane’s Treasury Casino and the Star Gold Coast, has pleaded guilty to seven charges under the Casino Control Act 1982. The offences occurred between 2 June 2017 and 29 December 2018, and between 23 March 2022 and 2 April 2022.

The way linked jackpots are managed is changing for Victorian venues. For more information click here  The changes are the result of amendments to the Gambling Regulation Act 2003. The VGCCC are amending the relevant sections in Accounting and Auditing Venue Requirements (AAVR) and other resources.
