This in-depth longitudinal study by the University of Bristol's Children of the 90s, has shown that regular weekly gamblers were more likely to be male, and had developed habits and patterns of play by age 20.

The Australian Banking Association has released a consultation paper on the use of credit cards for gambling.  The ABA are seeking community views about financial institutions allowing credit cards to be used for gambling and the role of banks in addressing problems.

Legislation to establish a National Self-Exclusion Register has passed Parliament.  The register will allow people who gamble online to exclude themselves from interactive wagering services licensed in Australia though a single registration process.

Gambling reforms to deliver more money for people at risk (SA)

The SA Government will inject an additional one million dollars a year into South Australia's Gamblers Rehabilitation Fund, to enhance the mechanisms for support people at risk of gambling related harm.  The additional funding would be used to fund support services like in-venue counsellors.
