Australia/New Zealand has had a national standard for all gaming machine equipment for over two decades. 

The standard sets out requirements related to:

  • Consumer Protection
  • Player Information (Paytables, RTP, Instructions)
  • Artwork
  • Security and Integrity
  • Auditability
  • Specifications

The national standard for gaming machines is reviewed regularly and updated to reflect current legislative provisions and technological changes.

Revision 11.1 of the Australian/New Zealand Gaming Machine National Standard is the current version, effective 2 February 2022. 

In accordance with conventional practice, a transition period from the effective date may apply in some states/territories before compliance with the amended standards are enforced.
