Prevention Partnerships Program 2019-2021 (VIC)

The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation (VRGF) is funding 14 partnership projects from 2019 to 2021, receiving a combined total of $1.97 million, to help to prevent and reduce gambling harm in communities across Victoria.

Liquor and Gaming NSW has issued its latest gaming machine data updates as part of the New South Wales Government's commitment to transparency on gambling activity on local communities. The data can be viewed on their website. There is also a Gaming Machine Data factsheet.

Public Health England to Publish Gambling-related Harms Review in 2020 (UK)

Sheffield University will review the effectiveness of national and international policies and interventions to reduce gambling-related harms. PHE will carry out a broader review on the prevalence of gambling and associated health harms, and their social and economic burden.

Funding to Tackle Local Gambling Harm (VIC)

The Government is preventing gambling harm across Victoria through state-wide grants for 14 community-based, not-for-profit organisations.  Minister for Gaming and Liquor Regulation Marlene Kairouz attended a Gambling Harm Awareness Week workshop & announced $2 million in grant funding.

Point of Consumption Tax for Tasmania

The Tasmanian Government will introduce a Point of Consumption Tax on wagering from 1 January 2020. It has been determined the Point of Consumption Tax will be set at a rate of 15% of the net wagering revenue of betting companies, and will exclude the face value of free bets provided to bettors.
